Mamdani won the primary by a pretty good margin but it will be interesting to see if his margin translates to the general. Was it a one-off or is there more to it? Call me skeptical but my sense is that there's a lot of racism in this country. . . I don't know how true that is in New York but it sure is true in the midwest. I didn't think Obama could win because of racism but he won two terms. I voted for him twice and never regretted my vote. He was the hope and change candidate. . . but did anything really change? Or was the hostile racism just delayed? I'd like to hear you say more about this. I thought that Americans were decent and open minded people until MAGA came along. Now I just don't know.
Yes, absolutely. Do everything possible now, and stop all the overthinking intellectualizing self-sabotaging nonsense. Be authentic, talk from your heart and soul and your experience, about what really matters.
And I’d like to add that Cuomo was such a bad candidate that although I’m no socialist I don’t see how anyone with a shred of integrity could vote for him. He’s as close to a democratic Trump as you can get.
Just one horror after another from the First Felon and I keep waiting for the Democrats to take a firm stand and demonstrate some outrage; to condemn Trump in the strongest possible language, What do we get instead? Wishy-washy statements from Chuck Schumer that say almost nothing and certainly don't demonstrate fury and rejection of Trump's trampling of the Constitution and the oath he swore to uphold it. I want to tell the Democrats to just get out of the way and let someone else lead. But there is no one else, except for us. We have to get out in the streets in much larger numbers and stage a general strike to bring US business to a halt. It worked in Europe and it will work in the US if we have the gumption and cojones to do it. Nothing else will stop him. We can't wait for the courts to do it because he's ignoring them. And we can't wait for the midterms - it might be too late by then. What choice do we have when armed, masked thugs are kidnapping people off the streets and putting them in horrific, for-profit detention centers or sending them to some hell-hole abroad? When they are arresting senators and telling elected officials that they have to go? It's time to act now.
Damn Frederic! You are right on! Keep preaching it so maybe it will get into the dems minds and they actually get motivated to get rid of the old guard and seek new blood that will fight!

What you said. Again!

Yes, absolutely, Frederic and, after watching this debacle get worse and worse for 45 years, I don’t see the Dems stepping up— ever. Not ever.
Oh, it gets worse, not only did they not support Mamdani - they're still thinking of supporting Adams!

Stop him now because there’s too big of a chance that we will not have elections in 2026!
Well said! Plainly said! Where are our new leaders? Why can’t they show us in public what true leadership is?
