Great points Great topics, & There is no Republican Party anymore and yes We need to grow some Balls & I refuse to donate to the DNC that just talk the talk and not fight back, you can’t be a wimp!
I’m a 71 year young Dem from Mass & I’m seen a lot of shit, we need a big tent, and if we go far left, We will LOSE The Presidential election & yes we need a new young leadership👊🏻💪🏻🥰💙 and yes we need a fucking Fighter
Great and illuminating conversation! I remember in 1980 when Ted Kennedy couldn’t give a coherent and cogent reply to Roger Mudd’s question, “Why do you want to be president?” Kennedy’s campaign never recovered. (He did give one of the best speeches ever when he conceded to Carter at the convention. Too bad that fire wasn’t there at the beginning.) Democrats don’t have to have a common creed or litmus test or focus group tested talking points. They just have to be authentic, and be able to articulate in a clear and cogent way the values and principles they will champion; and then fight like hell for what they say. If they’re elected officials, or party leadership, or candidates, and they can’t do that, then they need to retire or not run.
Loved your conversation with Julie Roginsky today. She is so smart and so spot-on. . . I really learned a lot from both of you. My big takeaway is what Ruth Ben-Ghiat describes as the fossilization of the Democratic party. It's not necessarily a thing about age as it is about the leadership and its seemingly inability to meet the moment. In plain speak . . . they need to get off their asses or get the fuck out of the way. I envision a third party coalition with a huge tent. A new vision of what We The People want this country to look like. 👍
I think those guys are useful as consultants, but it is time to bring fighters in. I think that their years in Congress have taught them what works and what doesn’t, but I think they’re way too corrupt from being in power for too long and it’s time for them to go out with the old end with the newand work with these young leaders that are dying to come here and fight against this corruption and help them lead. Y’all are old. Get the hell out.
This was SO interesting and informative!
Absolutely correct🥰
Dems are poor in messaging

We need to be more Centric with a big tent
