I typically don’t do a lot of planning when I write pieces or notes. I just decide what I feel like writing about that day, or whatever my thoughts are gravitating towards that morning.
Sometimes I have a longer piece on deck I’ve been working on but I’ve moved away from that more so due to time. It has to be something I really wanna write about for it.
I started putting these together for folks that might’ve missed a piece so you don’t have to hunt for it, but also showing just how much work I put into Missives. That supporting me isn’t a waste of time or money.
This will be the only time I’ll make a pitch for a paid subscription.

So here’s the week that was: 8/3 to 8/9
If there was a theme this week it was being sick of the hacks, the centrist, and the so called “moderates” who’ve sold us out, and enable the fascists to act with impunity.
The ones who suddenly turned away from calling Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people a genocide.
The only way to move the needle on that is to basically stop supporting them. You might like the other stuff that they do but if they won’t take a stand on genocide they won’t take one on anything else when it matters.
So I called for boycotting any content creator who supports Israel.

Currently we’re in a shift on not just on Substack but in our politics, and in our culture. A lot of systemic values we never questioned or simply took for granted have been found to be fraudulent or non-existent.
This piece was more personal. Because of all the horrible lies, and disinformation surrounding Dr. Fauci being pulled back to Congress I was forced to relieve the pandemic again.
It reminded me just how much trauma I went through and how I probably still need to do some healing from it. I lost a lot of good colleagues and some friends who lost family members.
Fuck the Republicans and fuck Trump for not only making me relive that but for making it so much worse in the first place.
Old Pandemic Blues
Those Old Pandemic Blues grabbed me this past week. I could feel them taking root again.
I had a great live with Walter Rhein and Will Fullwood where we discussed the Winds of Change that are happening right now. From El-Sayed’s win in Michigan to challenging white supremacist culture.
On Friday I was back again with my unofficial co-host Lorissa Rinehart for T.G.I.Fuq It. Working title I’m not quite in love with. We discussed the events of the week along with her college freshman pajama looking top that she threw on just before class. LOL
Saturday ended up being a 2 for 1. I had a piece that I’d held off on publishing but given that Corporatist Democrats got fired up to oppose… checks notes Progressive Democrats who won their primaries I figured it was time to call out the hacks who could care less if we win or lose elections.
As long as the status quo is maintained, or they’re delusional enough to think that somehow the corporate hacks will grow a spine if elected again.
It’s time to stop treating these people are serious people.
The Problem of the Professional Pundit
So I don’t listen to Hasan Piker. I’ve seen a few clips of him over the years on YouTube and to me he was just another leftist bro streamer. Throw some bombs at MAGA types and say something provocative for clicks.
And this one just ended up being a longer response video I published. It’s a reaction to something Dan Crenshaw posted.
The fact that for young people it’s so much harder than what it was when I was coming up. And I thought it was hard back then but compared to what it is now back then was a breeze.
