Republicans Always Make Things Worse with Iran

Thoughts on the Morning: June 23rd, 2025

On November 4th 1979 66 Americans were taken hostage from the American Embassy in Tehran. These were diplomats, civil personnel and staff. 52 of them were held until January 20th, 1981.

Under the Carter Administration a plan was devised to attempt a recuse mission which resulted in failure, and created DELTA force in the US military.

There’s also accusations that Ronald Reagan secretly negotiated with the Iranian government to keep the crisis going on to help him win the 1980 election. If you fact in the Iran-Contra scandal there’s definitely some strong circumstantial evidence for it.

Basically when it comes to getting American personnel out of harm’s way in Iran the Republicans have a piss poor record of doing so.

And I haven’t even gotten into the fact where Trump scuttled a Nuclear Deal Obama got with Iran that was actually working. Why did he scuttle it? Because Obama did it and it was working. Just like he wanted to do with ACA or anything that he can’t slap his name on it.

So while the State Department has issued a travel advisory warning Americans not to visit Iran for “any reason”. Just go ahead and file that under “No Shit” after we dropped a few massive bombs on them.

But what’s even more vile, and disgusting is that the Trump Regime has told the 25,000 American citizens who are currently in Iran, the West Bank, and Israel that they are “not offering direct assistance of leaving at this time”.

Boy howdy! It’s a relief to know that the government that starts an unprovoked attack on a country that isn’t known for it’s careful treatment of American citizens is going to do jack shit to get you out of harm’s way.

MAGA is a One Way Street

Think because you’re a MAGA supporter that Trump is gonna have your back? Think again.

What we’re seeing over and over from this regime is they could give two shits about American citizens whose lives they’re supposed to be if not improving at least protecting.

As many Latinos for Trump are finding out now just because you helped to put Republicans in office doesn’t mean they won’t turn around and rip your family apart no matter if you show up for your court dates, follow the rules, work hard basically do everything they told you to do.

It’s the same for victims of natural disasters in ruby red states like Mississippi and Arkansas. A tornado came through and destroyed your home? Tough shit. Don’t come crying to the Federal Government for any of that tax money you paid into it. You better figure it out.

You’re a farmer that counted on the Biden Infrastructure Act to reimburse you for the improvements to your farm that they said they were going to? By law? Too bad sucker. Daddy Trump doesn’t like Joe Biden so you’re just shit out of luck.

So is it any surprise that after the Trump Regime bombs Iran without Congressional Approval, carried out by a General who told TACO Trump that he “loved him” and would “kill for him” before he put on a MAGA hat?

Just like everything else with Trump it’ll always be him first and everyone else second.

And now that our dipshit, punk ass POTUS who is so inept, and most likely functionally illiterate to the point he can’t read an intelligence briefing by threatening Regime Change, Iran at the time of this writing has attacked our military bases in Qatar and Iraq.

Hell I’d be surprised if these dumbasses remembered to actually supply our troops with munitions and food if we did go to war or if they wouldn’t be standing around looking at each other saying “I thought you were supposed to do that?”

And now according to Reuters the US is asking China to step in and keep Iran from closing the Strait of Hormuz which 20% of the world’s oil flows thru.

Because having an actual plan to follow up on the bombing requires intelligence, finesse and an understanding of the stakes of such an action. Trump possesses none of those abilities.

And if JD Vance is quarterbacking this thing that’s not really any better since he was the dumbass in a Signal chat with a reporter from the Atlantic talking about bombing the Houthis.

So again it’s no surprise Trump will absolute abandon Americans overseas to their fate. We’re all disposable to him once he’s gotten what he wanted.

After all he’s keeping his promise of the most critical thing he said on the campaign trail. While 20 people fainted from heat exhaustion and 6 were hospitalized in a rally in Las Vegas where temperatures got over 100 degrees he told the rest of the crowd.

“I don’t care about you. I just want your vote.”

That’s probably the most truthful thing he’s ever said. On that we should believe him.
