It's bleak. Bleak and seemingly hopeless. I really do hope we make it to 2026, but the ego monster has probably just doomed us all.

1876 - Republicans steal the Presidential election of Samuel Tilden and appoint Rutherfraud Hayes by committee fiat;

2000 - SCOTUS stops the vote count and appoints Dubya;

2024 - Elon Musk hijacks the election with Starlink and appoints Trump.

Trump praised Hegseth for not leaking the Iran plan ahead of time. Give the man a tacky gold dunce cap engraved with his name. ๐Ÿ™„

Nixon worked with Vietnam against LBJ.

Reagan worked with Iran against Carterโ€ฆ think it was a coincidence they were released when Reagan was inaugurated? Come on.

Trump worked with Russia in 2016, 2020 and 2024 and still is working to advance PUTINโ€™S interests, not ours. He also made promises that China in 2024.

Interesting post, and the whole thing reminds me of what Dr. King said "violence begets violence". Of course, this phrase is a lot older than him going back even to the Bible saying "those who live by the sword die by the sword".

I always find it so strange that Republicans, the party of "Christians" (trying not to laugh), always fail to learn from their own teachings. I know Trump is a moron, and that few people in MAGA really have a clue as to what they actually believe in, but this one is so obvious that I still manage to be shocked by their complete and total hypocrisy. We live in a very strange world.

Not disputing your headline point, but I do want to note that Latinos and other immigrants who are still in the check-in/court date process are not citizens and cannot vote, so they did not help to put Trump in office. Gotta be careful about implying that, it's a favorite MAGA lie.

I figured, but ... gotta be careful. I live in a majority-minority state, NM, and am Hispanic myself. I had a fair number of pre-election conversations with others here, people who voted for him but are definitely not MAGA, about what Trump was offering: an economy that wouldn't require more than 2 full-time jobs to support a small family (starting with lower prices), and less crime. That's why they voted for him. Regarding his immigration views, they said, he was in office before and deported fewer people than Obama, Biden deported more, they didn't think it would be different than before. It's easy, in our own frustration and fear, to think of them as stupid and gullible and maybe even closet racists. But it would not be accurate.

It's accurate in my book. The last person who openly called me the n-word to my face was Latino. He ended up staring down the barrel of my gun. So, don't talk to me about that. Wasn't the first time that happened with a Hispanic person, either. ๐Ÿ™„
